I can’t believe I finished my Acer sweater weeks and weeks ago and I am just now showing it to you. Sheesh. I guess it’s a true indicator of how cool the weather has been here lately since it’s mid-June and I’m wearing a wool sweater and I’m not too hot. In fact, I’m comfortable.
Anyway, the temperature actually worked to my advantage and I was able to take these pictures yesterday to finally document this here sweater. The pattern comes from the very talented Kirsten. And the yarn comes from the very durable and very wearable Peace Fleece.
I made the sweater a bit longer than the pattern called for and I’m glad I did as some of them look a little short to me. That’s fine if you’ve got the butt for it but me, I kind of like to cover it up.
I will confess that the shoulder increases confused the crap out of me. I just couldn’t seem to get the hang of them and I’m still not sure I did them completely right but it looks okay so I’m good with that. Honestly, it was such a relief to finish these up and just knit rows and rows of stockinette.
The buttons are from Saftler’s, which seems to be my go-to button shop these days. They haven’t let me down yet and I think these are perfect.
I’m glad the sweater is done and I’m glad I’ve had the chance to wear it without having to wait until this fall. Honestly, though, I’m ready for the warm weather. I’ll happily put this sweater away if summer ever arrives!

Mmm. Cozy goodness. Beautiful buttons. Looks great on you. A perfect sweater, I’d say.
gorgeous!
so much for globalwarming 😉
Your Acer came out wonderful. Thanks for the close-up of the yarn color/texture. I particularly like the button/yarn combination you chose.
Hey, I’m wearing my Acer as my go-to sweater in the air-conditioning here in Louisiana. As Brenda Dane says, “If you’re cold, put on a sweater. That’s what they’re for.” 🙂
That turned out really nicely! And the neckline doesn’t seem super open like others I’ve seen.
Just lovely, Carole! The buttons are perfect. I do hope you can put it away soon… 🙂
Beautiful! I like the sweater, too. You did a nice job of making a good looking, well fitting sweater! Wear it well. I’d love some warmth, too…and I hear it’s coming our way.
Sweater looks great! The buttons are tres cool as well. I know what you mean about the weather… we’ve had the windows closed and I watched tv with a blanket on me last night!
REALLY nice – I love your gray version and I am 99% sure I bought those same buttons at some point this year. 🙂
The sweater looks great. You have a sweet face.
It looks great on you Carole. From what I see in the photos you worked the increases perfectly.
I really love that yarn. The color is fantastic.

It turned out so well! Really love the buttons.
Great sweater and I *love* that last picture!
That’s a beauty! It looks versatile, useful and elegant.
My goodness that last pic is a beauty! The sweater is lovely – looks like Beaverslide is the way to go!
Beautiful sweater. I’ve been wanting to try Peace Fleece yarn. The yarn looks yummy.
Your sweater is incredible and the buttons are perfect for it!
Nice sweater; the buttons are great!
Lovely – and the buttons are spot on.
I have never been to Saftler’s. But I love those buttons so much I guess I will have to make the trip!
P.S. That sweater looks so soft and warm.
It looks lovely on you. Great job!
Wonderful! Love the yarn/button combo. I’m still wearing wool here too. Crazy!
I’m crazy for those buttons! I don’t think I’ve paid enough attention to pictures of you before. I can see where your beautiful daughter gets her looks.
Wow, that is so beautiful, and it looks fabulous on you. Congratulations on such a nice job. And congratulations to your photographer as well.
Your Acer looks great and I especially love the buttons. Perfect! that pattern hadn’t really grabbed me before but yours makes me think that it could be a good wardrobe addition.
Looks great! I struggled with the shoulder increases as well until I finally figured out what to do.
Wow! Lovely!! I especially like those buttons!
(And you look great in that sweater, I’d have to lengthen it, too)
(((hugs)))
So pretty! The yarn has a beautiful halo in the first photo. I agree that I hope it warms up soon though!
Gorgeous! And so is the sweater.I’ve never even seen Peace Fleece in person; now I feel like I’ve seen it up close and personal!
The sweater is gorgeous and I just love those buttons! It is a shame that it is June and we’re still frakkin’ wearing sweaters.
Wonderful! The buttons are great, too. And especially in that last photo, you look just as cute as one.
That sweater is so flattering! It looks great! You look great!
If you want warm weather, come South. I opened my front door this morning and stepped out into a sauna. It’ll be this way for the next four months.
Beautiful sweater. I love that soft gray color, and the buttons are knock-out.
What a lovely result. The buttons and the yarn give a very Scottish feel together.
Beautiful!
Gorgeous!
Yes, yes, lovely sweater, too.
Cute pictures of you, especially the last one! The sweater is cute too.
It’s gorgeous on you! The buttons are perfect.
Oh, it looks smashing on you! A beautiful lady, in a beautiful knit, with beautiful buttons. 🙂
You are so pretty! The yoke is especially nice and the buttons are great — I’ve never seen buttons like that. Did Dale take the photos?
Oh Carole – it looks fabulous on you! Sorry its so coolthere, but fun that you get to wear this wonderful sweater. I’ll bet that you wear this one a lot.

Very nice, and those buttons made me go, “ooooh!”
Lookin’ really good, and I love the buttons!
Very nice! I know about the weather… geesh… we’re in for at lesat 3 days of cool and rainy.
If it weren’t for the fact that your new sweater is so lovely and deserves to be wrapped around you a bit more, I would gladly send you 15 degrees of hot from here. Wait–you really seem to want those warmer temperatures. I will try to send 20 degrees of our heat, just in case five get lost in transit. Rrrrrrrr…is it working?
Great sweater, but OMG the buttons! They’re so beautiful I can’t even find the words.
That is a big “if”. 🙂 But summer is bound to show up sooner or later and probably with a vengence!
I LOVE your acer~ and peace fleece, well, could it get any better? I have been tempted by acer but was very unsure because of the shoulder area. I thought it would make me seem miles wide.
It sure does look great on you!
Enjoy it~! (I wore a wool sweater to work today!)
xoxo
I have had Acer on my list for a while. What color Peace Fleece did you use? The sweater and buttons are lovely and they look fabulous on you daaahling.
Great Knit and Fit! I love your yarn choice!
Carole, the sweater came out beautifully, and I love the buttons you picked!
Honestly, one of these days I really need to try out Peace Fleece…
