Wednesdays Are For Knitting: Stopover 2.0

Hold on to your hats because today I have knitting to show you! Maybe I should have said hold on to your sweaters because behold my finished Stopover.

You may recall this sweater because I showed it to you in March of 2019. And I showed you how I had messed up the colorwork on the yoke. Well it’s all fixed now and I can wear it with pride.

I love love love the neutral grey with the black and white on the bottom hem, cuffs and yoke.

And I love that it wasn’t all that horrible to rip it back and fix it. I had plenty of yarn and Lopi is great to unravel since it’s sticky and there isn’t that risk of a stitch running away and dropping down a gazillion rows or something.

It’s perfect with cuffed jeans and sheep socks.

And even matches my shower curtain! I’ve already worn it twice, gotten loads of compliments, and I’m super happy with it.

Ravelry Details on both Stopover sweaters here and here. If you haven’t knit one of these yet I highly recommend it. It’s fast (well, if you don’t screw up) and it’s very wearable and warm.

  1. Stylin’, indeed. It’s beautiful and the sheep socks are just so extra for a knitter. Wear them both with pride.

  2. Carole, love it, so beautiful. Must have been quite a challenge but result is worth it. Wear it in good health!

  3. I love this sweater! And I love the way you styled it. There are endless ways to style something this neutral, and yet it is not a boring color scheme. Very elegant, Carole. I have never used Lopi, but I always had the impression it was scratchy. And the colors look fabulous on you; you just glow in these photos.

  4. It’s perfect, Carole! I love it! And so dang cute with those socks!!!! 🙂 (I can’t wear the Lopi. . . I had to give my Stopover away. Maybe I’ll knit one with Not-Lopi someday.)

  5. I love your Stopover and the colors are great! I finished on back in the Fall, but I have to wear a turtleneck under it, so I only wear it on very cold days.

  6. What a great sweater. I love the grays and off white together. Sheep socks are the best finishing touch. Well done. Enjoy wearing the sweater.

  7. Hi Carole, I noticed your sweater yesterday at the library. I love it! I didn’t have a chance to compliment you. I thought you had made it when I saw it. I want to try to make one myself…maybe soon.

  8. I was looking at the photos and thinking how classy it looked and then the photo of you wearing it stopped me in my tracks. It’s stunning on you! I’m so glad the adjustments were a success so you can wear the heck out of this sweater.
