Blogging = Work

One thing I’ve discovered while being on vacation is that blogging takes discipline. It’s almost like work, for crying out loud. You see, I generally write my blog posts in advance, either first thing in the morning or in the evening. I schedule my writing around my work day just like I schedule food shopping or running errands or other tasks. But on vacation the schedule gets blown to bits and so does blogging.

Today’s post, therefore, is simply a few pictures I’ve taken so far this week.

More spinning with Abigail. This is a merino/tencel blend. Mmm. Mmm. Good.

The sock and I just couldn’t resist this sign at the Brockton Rox Stadium. I mean, really, it’s just so true.

The wool chart at Plimoth Plantation is slightly more detailed than the one I posted from the Brockton Fair.

They also have a very cool madder chart with yarn samples.

Cooling off!

Sandy toes.

O is still for ocean. Sigh.

Hope you liked my photo essay. Today is going to be about staying cool, getting a haircut, and making lists and starting to pack for next week. Weeee.

  1. It does take discipline — alas, my last of posts this week due to a very busy week at work and getting to bed early! Glad that you are enjoying vacation.

  2. Love the photo essay. I am on vacation after this week. I look forward to maybe dyeing some yarn and maybe going to FL.

  3. You know…you could take a vacation from blogging too…just sayin’

I mean, we’d miss you and all but we want you to have fun :o))

  4. I’ve had the same problem with blogging this summer. There is simply no time to do it with all the summertime activities.

    Great photos. Enjoy your trip!

  5. Getting ready for vacation, including thinking about past ones, is so much fun. Have a great time – I loved the photo essay.

  6. It IS Random Wednesday. 🙂 Thanks for sharing the lovely pictures. Ah, the ocean… Have you ever heard the Dar Williams song The Ocean?

  7. Enjoy your vacation! I like the Beer is Good — does make you wonder if it is necessary to state the obvious though :o)

  8. I love that beer sign. My daughter was never a good sleeper and it drove me crazy. On the inside of her window shade, I painted, in glow-in-the-dark paint, the words “Sleep is good,” which would only show up at night when the lights went out.

Didn’t work, maybe because she was too young to read. But it made me feel better!

  9. Speaking as a person who has trouble keeping up with the blogging when I’m not on vacation, I must say you are a dedicated woman. Now for heaven’s sake forget about us for a couple of days.
