That Other Weekend Thing

Some of you are pretty clever. You saw my ad selling my Hitchhiker Wheel on the Spin Sales list a day after you saw Adrian’s ad selling her Kromski Polonaise and you put two-and-two-together and came up with four. And your math was correct. Bye-bye Hot Lips and Hello Pollyanna.

For those of you who like the details, you can read about her particulars here.

Isn’t she lovely? The finish is walnut and she came with a matching stool, too.

She spins like a dream and, while I can’t imagine loving any wheel more than I love my Reeves, I think Pollyanna is going to give Rosie a run for her money.

Of course, I didn’t need another wheel, but I just couldn’t resist this one. And, let’s just say that Adrian made me an offer I couldn’t refuse. She’d make a good godfather, that Adrian.

  1. She’s a beauty! But I’m noticing you’ve deviated from your naming of your wheel rule using the first letter of the wheel’s maker. This time you used the first letter of the wheel’s model name. I like it. What fiber are you spinning on her?

  2. Boy, that Manise doesn’t miss a beat does she?! I love the Polonaise, i think it’s beautiful. had I not found my Reeves Norwegian when I did I would have been fighting you for this one!

  3. Well, as a LONG TIME Kromski fan, I send my heartiest congratulations! Can you tell me what those Kromski haters are talking about? I have the Symphony (it was a toss-up, but came down to a style issue) and think it is the bargain of the wheel world. I still use my Minstrel all the time, and adore the new Sonata. (I don’t bother to reename as I think Mr. Kromski did a fine job, except that the travelling Sonata should be the Minstrel and vice versa….). Anyway, it’s gorgeous (my dear friend in Idaho has the Polonaise in natural to go with her Swedish decor!) and I wish you many happy spinning hours on it!

  4. Beautiful! I nearly got a Polonaise as my second wheel before I settled on the Majacraft. I’m sure you and Pollyanna will make beautiful yarn together. Congrats!

  5. Sigh!

So pretty. I’m trying to make myself spin a little everyday so that I can justify a traditional wheel. I’m just green with envy over here!

  6. Awesome! I just received my first two Bosworth spindles and now I want many more of them. They are so nice. I waffled until I read several of your posts and then I just jumped in feet first. Thanks for helping me decide. 🙂

  7. Oh Carole, it is so pretty! Enjoy your newest wheel!

I haven’t been able to get on your blog for days. I have no idea why, but it’s working for me now I see. Enjoy your long weekend!

  8. Oh, so you’re the one that was “looking” at the wheel? When I saw Adrian’s post, I really wished I lived in the US, because I would have bought it in a heartbeat. Lucky you that you live so close, and you were able to bring home such a beautiful wheel! I’m looking forward to seeing how you and Pollyanna get along 🙂
