Rhinebeck Mini Post

Rhinebeck was fun and awesome and crowded. I have a few funny photos to show you and I’ll try to get my official Rhinebeck post up later today but I’m not making any promises. You see, I’m tired. It took almost 5 hours to get home and it should have taken 3. And it snowed and there was traffic and there wasn’t even any pizza for me when I got home. Let’s just say it made for a very long end to what was otherwise a most perfect weekend.

Hopefully this photo will tide you over for now.

Later!

  1. We are living eerily parallel lives … from the horrible drive home, to the lack of pizza, to the picture (my version may be one of the only ones I took at Rhinebeck!). It was wonderful to see you this weekend.

  2. Looks like a fantastic time! So many fiber enthusiasts in one place – I cannot imagine. But to have your weekend capped by a drive in traffic and bad weather – BAH! Perhaps combing through photos will erase the memory of the drive. And perhaps someone will bring pizza home tonight!

  3. I heard the trip back east wasn’t so fun. I was supposed to go for the day yesterday but woke up at 5 AM with a sinus head ache from hell, so I told the girls to go without me. I was so depressed that I missed it.

They texted from the road saying there was snow and lots of traffic – I admitt I didn’t miss that part of it!

Looking forward to seeing the rest of the pics when you are up to posting.

  4. I caught a glimpse of you once and the next thing I knew you were gone. We really lucked out with the weather (except for the drive home). I can’t wait to see your pictures.

  5. I don’t know how I missed seeing so many people this year, and am sorry I didn’t get to see you. I’ll just have to take comfort in knowing that at least we were both there, huh?

  6. Wasn’t that the trip home hellish? Got caught in a 15 mile back up on the Pike. And snow. You too?

  7. Too bad about the rought ride home, but that one photo will tide my over until you post more. We had pizza last night – would’ve saved you some if I could. 😉

  8. Sat on the pike for at least 35 minutes. My eyes are tired from snow driving. Missed seeing you all on Sunday. Where were you?

  9. Glad you had fun this weekend! I got stuck in that same traffic yesterday … drove Jake back to UMass & what should have been a 5 hour RT turned into a 7 hour RT … ugh!! Sorry you didn’t get pizza when you got hom 🙁 Bet you got some awesome yarn, though!!

  10. But I didn’t see you at all. Or Manise, for that matter.

FWIW, Just after the crowds cleared out yesterday evening and the vendors started taking down their booths, the sky cleared in the west and we got a lovely sunset. By the time we headed back east (late, late, late), there was a little bit of rain but the roads were mostly clear.

  11. Oh no! I have a version of that picture in my camera too. As I expected, it took me about 6 hours to get home which was really not that bad. I am so tired today but it’s in the best possible way. It was so good to see you… and meet “our people” in person. Thanks for that!

  12. Memo to Weather Goddess: Rhinebeck is held in mid-October so that no one has to worry about getting caught in a snow squall on the way home. Get with the program!

But it was fun, and it was indeed great to see you.

  13. I took almost the exact same picture, but with even more mob present!! Drove home today in beautiful sunshine – go figure…

  14. Ugghh…..it took me almost 9 hours to get home….should have been 6. Needless to say it was a Drambuie night. 😉

It was great to see you all….it was fun! Next year if the threat of snow is in the air we will know to stay for one more night of fun. 🙂

  15. Sorry I didn’t manage to recognize you, though I do remember seeing that vista in one of the buildings. It was my first Rhinebeck, but it certainly won’t be my last.

  16. oh what an icky drive you had home.
And I have certainly noticed more people at the fairs out here – sounds like the same happened there.
