We had a great long weekend here with (mostly) good weather, some fun, some family…
Strawberry Cobbler
Weird how there’s no family resemblance, right?
The other night we had Dale’s brother Glen, who is here visiting from WA, over to have dinner with us. Not being sure about his particular food preferences, I went with steak, baked potato & salad. Easy and universally liked, right? For desert I would have normally baked a pie but I was short on time and decided to make strawberry shortcake. It is strawberry season, after all.
And then I read this blog post and decided that strawberry cobbler sounded way better.
I was right and Dale and Glen both enjoyed it. Now I think you should make it, too.
That is all.

How wonderful for Dale to have his brother visit! We had strawberry shortcake for Father’s Day as well. 🙂
I tend to be a strawberry purist–kick me out of my comfort zone, please!
Yum yum you have made me hungry now. :0)
I don’t care in what format dessert comes – pie, cobbler, tart – if there is fruit involved, I’m all in! It sounds like you had a wonderful Father’s Day celebration.
Nope – family resemblance at all! That cobbler looks wonderful! I love anything cooked in a skillet 🙂
Oh, my. Sounds awesome.
