Before our road trip, I cast on for a new Musselburgh hat. My grandson, Patrick…
Socks for Jessica
Remember waaaaaay back in December when I said I had some knitting I was hoping to finish for Christmas? As I predicted, it didn’t happen.
It did happen in 2014, however, as I finished on New Year’s Eve day. You’re probably wondering why it has taken over a month to actually blog about them. Part of the reason is that I didn’t take photos for a week.
And the other part is that I didn’t actually give them to the recipient until this past Sunday. I couldn’t very well blog about socks for Jessica when Jessica didn’t know she was getting socks.
Now she has them, mismatched stripes and all, and her feet are warm despite all the snow we’ve gotten in the last 2 weeks.
And that makes me very happy.
P.S. Details on yarn and stuff on my Ravelry page.

Love that vintage Opal! That colorway is like wearing the promise of Spring on your feet.
I saw that picture and thought those were a pair of MY socks. Similar but no!
Lovely Spring colors, lovely socks!
Do you mean it happened in 2015? Good ol’ Opal. It’s my favorite sock yarn as it wears like iron! My oldest socks are Opal. Love the color and your recipient is very happy, too.
Tell me how much snow you have. I live vicariously through you.
What kind of toe did you use?
Lucky Jessica! The colors are wonderful and do give hope of spring!
It looks like the heels match…I’m trying to figure out what changed so that the tops and toes don’t match! Cute socks anyway! 🙂
I love mismatched stripes and Ruth’s comment about the promise of spring!
Opal is the best for socks! And that pair does bring SPRING to mind. . . (Unlike the view out my window just now. Snow. And more snow.)
You got them done before the end of the year and that counts in my book! As cold as it has been I am sure she was thrilled to have them.
So pretty and I bet she loves them!
what a lovely gift! fraternal twins are my favorites…and that yarn knits up beautifully!
I love that color of Opal. It is like springtime on your feet!
