Before our road trip, I cast on for a new Musselburgh hat. My grandson, Patrick…
Wednesdays Are For Knitting: Algiers Shawl Start
The Summer Knit A Long at As Kat Knits got underway last weekend. And, while there are no rules, I do like rules and intended to create some for myself. The first rule was going to be that I finish my Zick Zack Scarf before I start any gradient shawl.
You know what they say, though.
Rules are meant to be broken.
Yes, I cast on the Algiers shawl on Tuesday. I couldn’t wait anymore, I was just itching to get going on some lace knitting. And Zick Zack is almost done and, you know what? It can wait.
I love being a rebel.

I support the decision 100% if the energy you put into a project isn’t positive, it doesn’t go well. Th projects tell you when they are ready! At least that’s what I’ve convinced myself…lol
I hope to cast on the new TTL tonight AND I hope to finish my Carole’s Picot sock this weekend!!
Rebellion and knitting are good companions!
Good girl!
I finished the baby blanket I was working on…thank-God because I really didn’t want that to go down the wip hole! You don’t need a scarf right now anyway! 🙂
I have not knit anything for almost six months and finally have a start on a Spring Lace Infinity Scarf.
It’s okay to take a break from a project. I am thinking of “Down the Rabbit Hole”. I love knitting lace, but feeling like my yarn is too busy for lace.
Fantastic!! If you make the rules, you can certainly break them!! 🙂
I’m a fan of the 3 wip rule: one lace project, one mindless knitting, and 1 pair of socks for portability. Seems to me you’re well within the guidelines. 🙂
Algiers is a great choice, btw.
yay for anything that makes knitting fun! (because that’s why we do it, right?) I can’t wait to see how Algiers works up in that gorgeous gradient…keep us posted!
I just started my Zick Zack scarf. Did you slip the first stitch for a nicer edge? Will that even work?
