I've mentioned here and there that we are having our living room renovated. We've been…
Weekending
This weekend was my favorite kind of weekend. Want to know why? I never left the house except to go to the grocery store on Friday. I call that awesome. And, luckily, I laid in a good supply of food when I did go out because judging from the pictures all we really did all weekend was eat.
Friday night snacks. Simple and to the point.
Saturday night cocktail hour. A little fancier with scallops wrapped in bacon. This was followed by a comforting meal of pot roast and mashed potatoes. So good on a cold fall evening.
Sunday morning. A nice big breakfast along with lots of political discussion (what is up with the tweets from Trump!?) and the morning paper.
Sunday afternoon. Pie crusts for Thanksgiving are complete. Woot!
In the midst of all of the food stuff there was also lots of knitting, lots of Gilmore Girls, some reading and some football with friends.
How was your weekend?

That is one heck lot of delicious-looking food! Are you serving anything besides pie on Thanksgiving? (not that there would be anything wrong with that!)
As Bonny said, “Not that there’s anything wrong with that.” I’m truth slab pie this year and the crust is being made today. And cranberries are also getting made today. Then back to my Christmas quilting project. Full day!
That’s a lotsa pies! A weekend at home is sometimes the best thing ever!
I love staying in the house all day! Those pie crusts are quite impressive. Counting the days until the holiday weekend begins!
Bacon-wrapped scallops! *swoon*
It all looks yummy! I’ll be making cranberry chutney tonight or tomorrow…pie crusts on Wednesday, baking pies on Thursday and then heading to our son’s for dinner. Let the feasting begin!
Your bacon wrapped scallops sound fantastic (as does everything else!).
That’s my kinda weekend! How great does it feel knowing all those crusts are done?
Everything looks delicious! I can’t wait for the new Gilmore Girls episodes on Netflix.
Looks like a great weekend. I count crusts for 5 double crust pies. That’s not too many pies for Thanksgiving! What’s better for breakfast the day after than pie? NOTHING. I am going to try and follow your example and get busy today. Thanks for the inspiration.
Rusty’s the pie man at our house; he couldn’t believe all your crusts!!
TEN crusts!!!? (and the base for a fabulous gravy) – obviously my weekend didn’t begin to prepare me for this week like yours did 🙂 but it was good…and I’m feeling a little bit better about it now than I did 12 hours ago.
Saw Fantastic Beasts which was great. My fantasy football league fell apart. Attended the final home game for Ga Tech which had me yelling like I was a coach on the sidelines. All good as it finally feels like fall.
