Weekending

You know, every weekend it’s the same. I tell myself on Sunday to get my Monday morning post ready. Sit down and do it, I say.

And then I don’t.

It’s not that I’m procrastinating, it’s that there are Sunday things to do and those things don’t usually involve screen time. And before I know it Sunday night has arrived and I’m tired and too lazy to write a post. Monday morning comes and the post isn’t done and I wake up and think, crap! I’ve got to get that blog post written.

This morning I realized something very important:

Your day won’t be ruined if my blog doesn’t post Monday morning at 6am.

Duh.

All of this is just a really long way of saying that Monday morning posts may not, in fact probably won’t, be ready at 6. It might be 7 or even later and I know you will be just fine.

Anyway. Here’s my past weekend in some photos and words.

Friday. Cinco de Mayo. Yummy snacks that included homemade guacamole, pico de gallo and quesadillas. Margaritas, too, of course.

Saturday. A day of hanging out, reading and some knitting. Late in the afternoon we headed to Plymouth. We took a beer drinking selfie for ya.

Sunday. After a lazy morning we spent the day building a second raised bed so that we can expand our vegetable garden this year. Like these types of projects so often do, it took longer than we anticipated.

We ended the weekend with a great visit from our girls, Jessica and Hannah. No pictures of that so you’ll just have to imagine snacks and drinks on the deck.

How was your weekend?

  1. I don’t have time to read a blog post at 6am anyway! Glad you enjoyed your entire weekend 🙂

  2. What a nice weekend.
Although damp and chilly Saturday, MDSW was great! And I kept to my budget! I was tired Sun, so I did a little knitting and a few chores.

  3. Looks like a nice, relaxing weekend, Carole. Love your shoes! They make for happy feet. (And I’m so glad you’re cutting yourself some slack over the 6am thing . . . ) XO

  4. Beer, snacks, and a new raised bed sound like a successful weekend to me! I almost always try to have my posts ready beforehand, but sometimes that just doesn’t happen. It’s great to read your posts whatever time you write them!

  5. Sounds like the perfect weekend for you. I spent part of mine with my youngest grand girl, Ellie, who is ten. An overnight, a dance dress rehearsal, and a volleyball game. Busy for me. I usually start my mornings with your blog. Good thing I live on the west coast. You will never be late for me! I love starting my day with my online friends?

  6. Not enough reading time, but truth be told but there was really the perfect balance of doing things and doing nothing! XO

  7. I think that every Sunday and even plot out what I will write about and yet….I don’t..LOL.

Your Friday Night snacks and cocktails look yummy!

  8. Better late than never right. My next home will definitely have raised beds. Something I have always wanted.
