Sometimes Monday has you wishing you were a cat who got to loll on the…
Bonus Day!
I got up for work yesterday at the usual time (6am) but Dale immediately told me there was no school in Carver and no school means no COA. Cool. I hopped in the shower and started planning my day in my head, knowing that I’d have a full day at the library for a change instead of a day split between my two locations. And then, at 7:17am I got a text from the Assistant Town Administrator telling me that there was no power at all municipal buildings and we’d be closed for the day.
Woo! And also hoo!
I spent the day: processing (and finishing) photos from a recent photography job, finishing 4 3 2 1 (wonderful book but very very long), knitting Hannah’s socks, napping, starting (and getting almost halfway through) Never Let Me Go, and cooking (really just dinner but it was nice to get it done early in the day.)
It was a perfectly unexpected and perfectly lovely Monday.
P.S. Happy Halloween!

Unexpected days off are THE BEST!!!! Sounds like you made the most of your Bonus Day. XO
Bonus days are always such a nice surprise.
An unexpected day off is a wonderful thing (especially if you have power at home even though work doesn’t), and now your work week is a short one, too!
How lovely! I was just looking at the November calendar and happy to see a few No School days ahead which I very much need.
Love those days… and you really made the most of it!
It sounds like it was perfect – I approve!
Bonus reading days are awesome! And, great photo! LOL
What a great surprise and great day! I’m struggling with 4.3.2.1 – started it on the plane last Thursday and am finding it overly wordy and just too long. I’m finding myself dozing off while reading it! I have several others that came through on Overdrive, so I may just let this one go (too many books, too little time).
Now that’s a bonus day most well-spent – and gah, I’m jealous you finished 4 3 2 1!!!
There is nothing quite as delightful as “found time”! I hope you have a wonderful Halloween, Carole.
Fabulous! Kinda like a snow day in October 😉
Oh lucky you!
