February Vacation Recap

Hello, friends. I’m back from a lovely and restful vacation.

We spent a couple of days in Maine at the beginning of the week, taking Hannah, Jessica, and Jackie with us. Jackie really loves going, I think mostly for the chance to swim in the hotel pool . . . and because he’s still little enough to enjoy forced family fun! Jokes aside, we really enjoyed being together with connecting rooms, hotel breakfasts, shopping, hanging out, and eating great food.

The rest of the week was just Dale and I at home. We puttered and did things together, like going out for lunch and visiting the garden center. We talked about big stuff, like potential home renovations (we may be forced into some of this due to a leak in the roof over our bathroom). We talked about little stuff like movies and books and music we’ve enjoyed lately. We went to a couple of meetings together and we entertained friends one night. I consider all of this good practice for retirement!

And now it’s back to work . . . and time to start planning our next vacation!

  1. Sounds like a nice, relaxing vacation. And Wow! I can’t believe how grown up Jack is. He must have aged 6 years during the one year I took off from blogging/reading other’s blogs.

  2. Sounds like my kind of vacation — lots of family time and lots of time for good conversation! I hope reentry isn’t too hard.

  3. Perfect vacation!! (Except for the leaky roof.)

I love nothing more than planning the next vacation — sometimes even while I’m still on vacation!!

  4. Your week sounds like a wonderful mix of away and home … and VERY good practice for retirement (except for that roof … ugh). Welcome back and I hope today was an easy re-entry day.

  5. It sounds like a great break, Carole! And I cannot believe how grown-up Jackie is getting!!!! Growing. Like. A. Weed!!!! XO
