I always get tulips instead of roses for Valentine’s Day because they are my favorite. They are also much less expensive and that makes Dale a happy guy! I dressed up the photo with a texture from Kim Klassen and I think it looks pretty neat like this.

A basket full of apples on my window sill is sometimes the only shot of color I see on these grey days of winter. I’ll be looking for color this weekend, though and I hope you will, too.

This abandoned tractor is on my brother-in-law’s property in the part of our ‘hood we affectionately call “down back”. Dale and I walked there last weekend. It was chilly but not cold, the earth was muddy and it felt great to be outside.
I’m going to make sure to get outside this weekend, too. Before the Super Bowl, of course.

Between the picture of the cardinal the other day and my neighbor’s shed today I’m guessing you can surmise that we had some snow last week. It’s long gone now but it was pretty while it lasted.

Today’s Eye Candy Friday is brought to you by my new knowledge of Photoshop and my new love of textures. I can see how this could easily become addicting! I can also see how it could become really easy to take this too far and I think it’s going to be important to know, as my mother used to say, when to say when. Some pictures are truly just fine straight out of the camera, after all. This tulip, however, looked a lot like every other tulip picture I had taken until I added a texture background to it. Now it looks all vintage-y and cool. Shut up, vintagey- is too a word.
