Before our road trip, I cast on for a new Musselburgh hat. My grandson, Patrick…
Taking Care of Business
Thank you all so much for the blog birthday wishes! All your kind words and compliments and encouragement warmed this little ole blogger’s heart. And my Better Pal says she got those light up ducks at World Market, for those of you who asked.
Now, down to business.
Last week or so, Julia tagged me with this automeme. I’m supposed to show you what makes my car distinctly mine. Probably just the fact that I drive a Jeep Wrangler, in the winter, with canvas doors, makes it distinctly mine. Or maybe that just makes me distinctly crazy.
In any case, here’s my Jeep and the two things that I think make it distinctly mine.
The spare tire cover was a Christmas present from Dale. I’m a librarian, of course my spare tire cover should say “Read” and not “Jeep,” don’t you think?
And the magnet is all Scout’s fault. She showed hers and of course I had to have one, too. You know you want one! Dale isn’t thrilled about driving around in a Jeep with a pink ball of yarn magnet on it, but he’ll just have to get over it.
The Jeep is mine, after all.

My what a brave soul you are to drive a jeep with canvas at this time of year. I love the spare tire cover, but as a history buff I read all the time.
Hey~ Smith drives my car with the NDLEPNT license plate and KNIT sticker. My dream car is a Jeep just like yours!
I do, I do, I do want one! And I have a birthday coming up. And I can’t go to NETA because DH is singing in a concert that night, so the very least he can do is adorn our van with a pink knitting magnet, don’t you think?
Speaking of birthdays, I missed your blog’s, so allow me to be the first to tender *belated* good wishes.
A point of anti-stashalong protocol: if one bought yarn from elann this morning for the Knitting Olympics but will not get it until later in the week (please please please, O Goddesses of Knitting, let it come when DH is not home), does it count as this month’s or next month’s yarn?
i like the yarn magnet!
Love the magnet. If I still had a car, I’d get one for it.
Hey – nice ride ;o)
Sweet wheels! How fun 😉 It is great to know that you are making socks for Project Spectrum – you should check out the link for that sock yarn in my post today if you are in market. They have some very appropriate colors. (no, I am not getting paid to say that…)
Have a good night 😉
I love your spare tire cover. I didn’t know you could customize those!
I love it!!!
Love the jeep! I may have to get one of those magnets – for my motorcycle!
I love that spare tire cover. Personalized yet not at all tacky. My kind of auto art.
You’re right, I do need that knitter’s magnet! And maybe some other things…you’re a wonderful influence, Carole. Thanks!
Thanks for the link to that magnet. Cute!
And happy belated blogiversary.
Very cool magnet! I love your tire cover, and there’s nothing wrong with you driving a Jeep with canvas. Just CRANK the heat, right?
tee hee hee hee hee hee *snort*…ooh, pardon me. you’re killing me with your girly knitter magnet on your manly jeep. 😉 love.it.
I LOVE your wheelcover! That’s fabulous. Hee hee – he should be happy it’s a relatively discrete magnet… I have one of the magnets, but it’s on my cabinet at work.
I love your wheelcover!!! How great is that??? And I almost love it as much as the magnet… I do want one!!
From one soft-top Jeep Wrangler owner to another: it’s not that bad in the winter, especially this strangely warm winter we’ve had in Chicagoland.
At any rate, I love your spare tire cover. Did you find it in stock somewhere, or have to have it custom-made? As a bookworm knitter who often can’t decide whether reading or knitting is her favorite hobby, I really want one!
Congrats on your blogiversary! 🙂 And I love the pink ball of yarn!
You can’t be 47363 serious?!?
