Weekend Recap

So, it’s not bronchitis. It’s a sinus infection. Oh, and also two ear infections. I spent most of Thursday, all of Friday and all of Saturday on the couch knitting and blowing my nose and coughing. Good times.

I did manage to have a pleasant weekend in spite of the sickness. We had dinner with friends one night and dinner at home one night. We watched two movies. Michael Clayton – meh. And Waitress – woot. We played games by the fire. And we went for a Sunday drive. I didn’t take a single photo, though. I think I was too busy expending all my energy on coughing. And blowing my nose. And did I mention knitting?

The knitting is significant because all that knitting time allowed me to finish the Aspen Grove Shawl. I thought sure I’d finish on Friday but I didn’t. Then I thought sure I’d finish on Saturday. But I didn’t. I finally finished last night. Man alive, those rows are looooooong at the end! It’s done and ready for blocking.

And now I’m done and need to get ready for work. Have a great day.

  1. Hope you’re feeling better fast 🙂 It’s a shame we can’t block out colds, no? Can not wait to see your new Aspen Grove!

  2. I just started section 3 and it’s going to take me all week (or more) to finish it. I can feel the rows going on and on…easy knitting, however.
Don’t over do and take care of yourself!

  3. Oh dear….sinus infections are THE worst! I hope you feel better soon!

You are finished with your shawl? Woman you are a knitting machine!!!

  4. oh no! is this what i have to look forward to? yikes!

glad you’re feeling better though. i’m home today. which isn’t a bad thing actually.

  5. I hope you feel better soon Carole; sinus infections are horrible and with two ear infections that would be really miserable – although finishing Aspen Grove may be a wee tiny solace! Congrats on that, can’t wait to see it!

  6. Wow, you got a lot done for being sick. When I’m that sick, knitting (especially lace!) would be the LAST thing on my mind. Sinus infections and ear infections make my head explode.

  7. Oh, yuck! Hopefully you have some good drugs that will knock those infections out. Can’t wait to see the shawl.

  8. Good lord, woman. Sinus infection and ear infections and you’re going into WORK? I hope that means you’re feeling better.

  9. Sorry for the sick, icky stuff. Congrats on your shawl though. Loved waitress and I also really enjoyed Michael Clayton. Interested to h ear why your so “meh” on it. Get mo betta!

  10. I’ve had one sinus infection and remember it vividly! Poor baby…I really do feel for you on that one. Glad you are feeling well enough to go back to work…sorry you HAD to go back to work! I loved “Waitress” by the way, haven’t seen the other one.

  11. I’ve heard that Waitress is good. I need to rent it soon. E and I watched No Reservations the other night. It was a bit sad, but it was still a good movie. I hope you feel better really soon!

  12. Oh my! I’m so sorry….what is it this year with sinus infections? And EARs, too??? (sigh)
However, you were productive and I can’t wait to see Aspen Grove!
    (((hugs)))

  13. Glad to hear it’s not bronchitis – hope you are feeling better soon. Haven’t seen Waitress, but I quite enjoyed Michael Clayton – what didn’t you like?

  14. Ugh, ugh, thrice ugh! At least infections are readily treated. Don’t over-do, finish your antibiotics, and feel better soon.

  15. That was the same re-diagnosis I had, that it was a sinus infection. Again. And they have me some soft of sulphur-based antibiotic. And I had a reaction to that. Ugh, nothing like being sick, and getting sicker. I hope you’re do MUCH better by now. And still knitting!

  16. Didn’t you already see Waitress? I could swear we talked about it at Spa. No? I almost got Michael Clayton on PPV this weekend but never managed to push the button on the remote. I must have been receiving subliminal telepathic signals from you!

    Still on for tonight?

  17. Good thoughts headed your way! Can’t wait to see the completed Aspen Grove Shawl! So, Michael Calyton wasn’t so good. I haven’t seen it yet and was waiting til the library got it. I did reserve CLOSE TO HER with Julie Christie.

  18. I’m another vote for ginger tea. That stuff cures everything. I am amazed that you were able to knit lace while as sick as you are. You are truly a wonder woman. I hope you start feeling better soon.

  19. You poor thing. I hope you start feeling better really soon. It must be difficult to try and work and keep any level of concentration when you’re dealing with those symptoms.

I also really liked Waitress. I wasn’t expecting much and was most pleasantly surprised.

  20. Best wishes! Remember to bundle up and keep those ears warm for a few weeks so the infection doesn’t return. Good use for a shawl!

  21. I’m glad you’re feeling better hunny!

I haven’t seen Michael Clayton but I hated Waitress – I thought it was beyond stupid!
