Ten on Tuesday

Pansies and Pussy Willows resized for blog

Beth has come to my aid again and suggested this week’s topic, 10 Favorite TV Shows. I thought we had done this already but we did 10 Guilty Pleasures on TV and that’s not really the same thing. Anyway, I watch way more TV than I should so I think this will be an easy topic for me.

  1. Grey’s Anatomy. I resisted this show for years and finally watched an episode with Hannah last summer. It was the one with the multiple kidney transplants and I was hooked immediately. Now I can watch it over and over again.
  2. The View. I dvr this show every day. I mostly only watch the Hot Topics segment but if they are having an interesting guest on then I will watch the whole show. Last week Pioneer Woman was there and she was great.
  3. Desperate Housewives. I’ve watched from the beginning and I love it. I really love this year’s new character, Angie Bolen.
  4. Brothers and Sisters. This rounds out my Sunday night TV watching. I hear Rob Lowe is leaving but I’m hoping it’s not true.
  5. The Good Wife. There are 3 good shows on Tuesday nights at 10 pm but this one is my favorite. I enjoy seeing Julianna Margulies on a weekly basis rather than just in the movies.
  6. Oprah. Another one that I dvr every day. Sometimes the topic doesn’t interest me and I won’t watch but I always check to see what the true queen of daytime TV has to say.
  7. Army Wives. Season 4 just started this week and it promises to be as good as ever!
  8. Modern Family. My favorite new sitcom. There isn’t a week that goes by that I don’t laugh out loud at something on this show. Cameron is my favorite!
  9. Parks and Recreation. We just started watching in the middle of this season and I’m so glad we are. Anyone who works in town government would get a real kick out of this show, I think.
  10. Parenthood. Okay, this isn’t really one of my favorites but it has greatly improved in the last couple of weeks and I’m going to stick with it for a while, anyway.

  1. Into Lost, even though they let me down last season. I keep meaning to give Parenthood a peek, but forget each week. One of the guys involved in thirtysomething (writers) is working on this, so I want to tune in. The Good Wife is a fav too. I had dinner at a table near her during her ER days. Very tiny woman!

  2. A friend of ours was an extra in Grey’s Anatomy so I watched for him and I couldn’t take it! It was an episode where there was a horrific accident and the injuries looked too real for me. 🙂

  3. I’m waaaaaay out of the loop on this one. We rarely watch TV, except during summer, when we like watching baseball. I also like The Marty Stuart Show on RFD. The one show I’d love to watch but know I can’t is “House”. Hugh Laurie absolutely fascinates me, but I know people both bleed AND throw up on that show, and I can’t handle either one. 🙁

  4. Gee, we only have one TV show in common. The Good Wife is second best on my non-list. I like Castle the best. Thanks for dong the Tuesday Tens.

  5. I admit I am stuck on NCIS (the original) and the Big Bang Theory. My others have to the House Hunters and the Barefoot Contessa.

  6. You have no idea how ecstatic I am to know that there is another person in the world that watches Army Wives. It’s my ultimate guilty pleasure. I have no idea why I love it so much but I’m mildly obsessed. And this last episode! OH MY GOD IS JOAN BLIND OR WHAT?!?!

  7. I *LOVE* Army Wives and The Good Wife! Haven’t seen the new episode of AW yet, can’t wait to watch 🙂 I also love any CSI and 24. Also watching ‘Human Target’ … totally cheesy, but he’s so pretty to look at 😉 Other than those, it’s pretty much Red Sox for the summer.

  8. We watch more TV than I like to admit but I have never seen any of the shows on your list. NCIS is my guilty pleasure as is Survivor.

  9. How about “Middle” which is just before “Modern Family?” And “Big Bang Theory?” Bet you’d like that one.

  10. Good list. I should try to watch some decent TV. I always wind up sucked into something like “E True Hollywood Story” or “Mystery Diagnosis.”

  11. We’re of the same opinion for Parenthood. We recently caught up with the past two episodes, and it’s definitely improved. I’m tempted by your other faves, but trying hard not to watch more tv than I already do!

  12. I cannot believe I forgot Grey’s – Lindsey is obsessed with that show. Modern Family is great too. It’s nice to have a show that makes you laugh out loud.

  13. Maybe I will give Parenthood another chance.

I think I will check out Modern Family, as laughing like that is always good.

  14. We practically dvr the same shows – have to catch Oprah’s topic and love hot topics on the View (although EH drives me nuts!).
I love Modern Family and The Good Wife.

  15. Wow. How are we friends? *L*

I loved The Good Wife in the beginning but it became way to formulaic for me.

I still love Castle, although, last night was disappointing. NCIS is still a winner and should remain so as long as Mark Harmon is running things behind the scenes. I’m still with Margene and Survivor, but I think that’s the end of my mainstream tv viewing. *L*

    Well, unless Bones counts.

  16. I haven’t been watching too much TV lately, with other committments taking precedent. I do love Thursdays on NBC however, and fortunately that night hasn’t had anything to fill it lately (of course that will change this Thursday…)

  17. I purposely did mine before looking at yours so I wouldn’t be influenced one way or the other. Sometimes our lists are so similar I feel like a copycat. This time they’re completely different. Maybe I’ll have to check out some of yours.

  18. hmmm…. well, on your list, I think that I watched part of an Oprah show about 7 years ago… but I have never seen any of the others.. I suppose that owning a tv would be an important aspect to watching it, eh?! (giggles)
