Is It Thursday Already?

Party Hat Or Gerbera Daisy blog size

I apologize that the posts haven’t been full of content this week. Things are really hectic over here at Casa Carole Knits. Monday night was Town Meeting. Tuesday night was the annual Dale and the Duds concert on our town common. And yesterday Hannah and I were up and out the door at 5:00am to go to freshman orientation at her college. While Hannah spent her time taking placement tests and learning about campus activities, I went to workshops on paying the bills, campus security and learning to let go. It was a loooooong day but there was a lot of knitting time. In fact, I just about finished an entire sock.

Well how about that – I managed to talk about knitting after all.

  1. Oh, how I remember those days. There are long and very tiring
and try to remember everything that was said? Right.
Where is going to college and what is she planning (if she knows)
    to major in?

  2. Hope Hannah is *loving* orientation and meeting lots of cool kids to hang out with 🙂 Yay for knitting time!

  3. I love those times when you can get some extra knitting in.

Hannah must be getting so excited! I don’t know how good I would do with the “learning to let go” part. But we all have to do it at some point. At least they have workshops for that!

  4. My daughter is graduating from high school, too, and it all feels surreal. But geez, isn’t it a bit early for freshman orientation?

  5. Such fun! We won’t be heading to orientation until January as TLP has decided to do a NOLS gap semester in the Rockies. But based on the past 4 years – January is just around the corner!

  6. Wow, that sounds like a long day for both of you. The learning to let go course – is there a pre-learning to let go course for those of us going out to look at college this summer? I’m having a difficult time with that very concept! I noticed your baby blanket is off the needles (or at least off your side bar). What’s up with that?

  7. Love that red….whatever it is Gerbera, maybe? Very pretty.

I’m glad you went to the Learn to Let Go thingy. You can do it! XO

  8. Wish I’d known about sock knitting, but I didn’t, during those long hours waiting – outside schools for car pool, during ballet practice, during gymnastics practice, and long weekends at gymnastics meets.

Learning to let go, huh? It might be easier than you anticipate – after a suitable period of mourning.

  9. You’ll do fine – but, it still is nice to have those classes behind you! I think the security class is important – and hopefully relieved any concerns…

  10. Ah yes, paying the bills. We’re starting our ninth year (over three kids) of paying college tuition. Phew! Takes my breath away thinking about it, but it’s been worth it.

  11. Yes, but at least you had time to post something, which is more than I’ve done lately. LOL! Dale and the Duds? Sounds fascinating! 🙂
