Ten On Tuesday

Top of the morning to ya! It’s St. Patrick’s Day and I’m on the search for a leprechaun so that I can steal his pot of gold. Do you want to know what I would buy if I found it? My list follows since this week’s Ten on Tuesday topic is 10 Things I would Buy If I Found a Pot of Gold. And, just so you know, according to the research I did, a pot of gold would be worth about $335,000 based on today’s price of gold. Ready? Let’s spend money!

June Rainbow for Carole Knits

  1. Pay off the mortgage
  2. Pay off our car loans
  3. Buy Hannah a new car
  4. Buy a new refrigerator
  5. Install a hardwood floor in the dining room
  6. Get new kitchen counters and cabinets
  7. Visit London
  8. Hire a professional to landscape the yard
  9. Put on an addition that would include a master bathroom and closet
  10. Invest the rest – there wouldn’t be much by the time I did all of that!

It’s actually the perfect amount of money. I could pay off any debts we have, do some work around the house that’s just a little above our means right now, and a bit of traveling. Life at home would be more comfortable but not drastically changed and that sounds just right to me.

  1. I wish that pot of gold for you! It’ll be fun to read what everyone would do with their money. 🙂
    Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

  2. I’m impressed that you researched what the pot of gold would be worth and made a great list. I’m going to pretend that I found an immense pot of gold since the things on my list add up to approximately $1,335,000.00!

  3. What a wonderful list, Carole! Just the right mix of things to make life a little more comfortable — and a little more fun! Happy St. Patrick’s Day to you and Dale!

  4. I assumed my pot of gold was bottomless. You’d have a very worthy home by the time to finished spending all your loot. It would be just as warm and welcoming as your home is today.

  5. Happy Saint Patrick’s Day Carole! We’ll be over to celebrate with corned beef and cabbage once your renovations are complete! 🙂

  6. I assumed I found a dumpster full of gold in my scenario! I would be happy just paying off the mortgage at this point.

  7. I’m always wishing to find a treasure. I think your choices are good ones and I hope you hit your payday to make them come true. I would make one suggestion. How about a side trip to Ireland? I believe there are no leprechauns in England. It seems only fitting to stop by and say thanks for the loot 🙂

  8. This is really amazing — your list is the twin of my list, except for the names of our daughters!

  9. I’m looking forward to reading all these dreamy wish lists. Funny, I didn’t add a single thing house-wise… I could use a new fridge, too, and I’ve been dreaming about adding a master bath. Neither made the cut this time, tho!!

  10. Dang I hope I have enough money left for new counters in my kitchen too. I forgot that on my list. This was a fun post today. Happy St. Pat’s Day!

  11. It would be amazing to find the pot of gold–your list is practical–and not practical—perfect!

  12. I love what Bonny said – I was thinking our pot of gold was all the money we could wish for! in any event, fun topic, fun list, and yay for paying off ALL the things!
