I know, because of the comments from last week, that many of you enjoy reading…
Ten On Tuesday
Is there anything more perfect in the summertime than an ice cream cone? I think not! And half the fun of getting an ice cream is choosing which flavor to have, right? Today’s Ten On Tuesday topic, as you may have guessed by now, is 10 Favorite Ice Cream Flavors. Ready?
- Peppermint Stick. Makes me think of my Nana and it’s been my favorite since I was a kid.
- Black Raspberry. When peppermint stick isn’t available (and that’s often, for some reason) this is my fallback.
- Strawberry Cheesecake. A great flavor combo!
- Maple Walnut. This was my mom’s favorite and I love it, too, especially when the walnuts are in big pieces.
- Dutch Chocolate Almond. Because sometimes you need chocolate.
- Pistachio. I’m looking at my list and thinking – geez, I guess I like nuts.
- Peanut Butter. And by this I mean Peanut Butter ice cream. Not chocolate with peanut butter swirls. Or vanilla with peanut butter cups. Real honest to goodness peanut butter flavored ice cream. It’s hard to find.
- Butter Pecan. So rich and sweet and decadent.
- Peach. A little fresh fruit is good, especially when it’s surrounded by rich vanilla ice cream.
- Ben & Jerry’s Cherry Garcia. It’s a classic for a reason.
And now, I want ice cream. What a terrible topic this turned out to be! Okay, not really and I hope you all enjoyed it. If you wrote a post for today please include your link below. Click here to subscribe to the Ten on Tuesday weekly email.

Oh, I will have to do this. Ice cream is high on my list of weaknesses. 😉
I found it hard to think of a post entry for this topic. It would have read
1. chocolate
2. chocolate
3. chocolate
4. chocolate
5. chocolate
6. chocolate
7. chocolate
8. chocolate
9. chocolate
10. mocha with chocolate chips
I LOVE peppermint chip ice cream! I always order it when it’s on the “flavor board.” Problem is . . . I rarely find it on the “flavor board.” 🙁 (I do tend to find it in the stores near Christmas time, though.)
Peppermint stick sounds delicious and I so wish I could find it around here!
Now I’m really hungry! That peach sounds really delicious!
Yes – ice cream is on the list for today! I like peanut butter too, but yes it is hard to find!
I thought this would be hard. I thought wrong. Your list sounds scrumptious!
I just found a recipe you might like.

I’m not an ice cream fan, but occasionally I have coconut milk “ice cream”.
Lots of yummy flavors!
Hahaha… I love Laurie’s list!! Yours is pretty good, too! 😉
Vanilla, vanilla, vanilla, vanilla, chocolate chip. Just one scoop in a sugar cone. And the tip was for the dog who stuck his head between the two front seats, salivating, waiting for his turn.
We have a local ice cream called “Whitey’s.” I think the milk fat in their ice cream is about 11,000% or something! Anyway, my fav is a turtle malt, which has vanilla ice cream, malt powder, chocolate syrup, and salted pecans with extra salted pecans on top. Or a Boston, which is a malt with a sundae in it. My fav Boston is a chocolate malt with a strawberry sundae. I usually make a trip to Whitey’s after I cut the grass—it’s how I bribe myself.
I thought today’s topic would be hard and that it would look like Laurie’s list! I did have a bit of a chocolate theme going, but managed to make it a bit varied 🙂 If anyone has any vegan recipes that can be made in the ice cream maker, send ’em my way. Trying to get away from dairy.
I have never had Cherry Garcia. I know, how can this be? It has everything I like in an ice cream — chocolate, cherries. Must remedy.
This? This is a slippery slope my friends. Even if I have safely stored all the fudge sauce in a secret place I will never tell about. Now, I have to go to my secure room and do some quality control work.
Fellow butter pecan lover here. I’ve never had black raspberry, but I’ll look for it now.
Peppermint stick! And Butter Pecan! How could I forget those two? Yikes.
Amen to #7. This summer we have been living in Florence, Italy and enjoying the most delicious gelato. My favorite…salted peanuts. Definitely for the peanut butter lover! Great list!
Get in car. Drive to Brookville PA. Go to Buff’s. Order Peanut Butter Ice Cream with Peanut Butter topping. Eat it.
What a great summery prompt! I’m not sure that I’m going to get my blogged this week, but I will definitely publish an ode to ice cream flavors. 🙂
I’ll bet most of us can’t think of ten (different!) flavors…you’ve done a great job – and the seaside view with the cones really makes me want one, too!
