Weekending

Another weekend, another mosaic. You’d think I could have pulled this together on Sunday night. But. Here’s the thing about Sundays – I like them to really not be about work. To really just hang out and relax, to spend time with Dale, to go to a movie or for a drive. And often, by the time Sunday evening rolls around, I’m just not in the proper mindset to write a blog post. For now, we’ll go with this and I’ll share the weekend on Tuesday.

So, last weekend I spent time with my little muffin Jackie. I spent time with Dale, having Friday Night Snacks and cocktails, dancing in the living room, and talking about, oh, everything. We went to the movies. (Phantom Thread. It was . . . not what I expected.) I spent a lot of time drinking tea and reading and I even got to go out to breakfast with Jo-Ann.

It was fun and easy, just the way I prefer my weekend to be.

  1. Weekends should most definitely be about weekends, not work! Love the mosaic … and are those smoked oysters on the snack tray? yummmmmm……

  2. I saw Phantom Thread this weekend too. And I agree, it wasn’t what I expected. I’m not quite sure how to describe it.
Weekends should be about fun, relaxing, and whatever you want them to be.

  3. Unless you’re 15 & have procrastinated your homework, Sunday nights are definitely for relaxing.

  4. One of the best things about being retired is NOT having to spend Sunday night getting ready for Monday morning. As much as I would try to deal with that stuff on Friday evening, it rarely happened.

  5. Perfect weekend, as far as I can tell, and it is wise not to attach any “should’s” to a weekend. That just ruins it!

  6. Sometimes the simplest is truly the best. I’m so looking forward to having my non-blogging sister in law and her husband over tonight for lasagna. I so miss entertaining, but Steve and I have been able to have some lovely chats recently.
