Last night was the Annual Town Meeting for the town where I work and I…
Wednesdays Are For Knitting: Walk In the Woods
I have another hand knit to show you today. It’s the Walk in the Woods scarf and I made it for my friend Rose and gave it to her for Christmas.
The pattern is extremely well written and easy to follow. Believe me when I say that while it may look complicated it’s actually pretty simple and you only work with one color at a time.
Speaking of color, the yarn is Woolen Rabbit Heron in Zelda and Midas Touch. They are richly saturated and compliment each other perfectly, providing great contrast.
I truly enjoyed making this one and, much like I felt when I gave Jo-Ann a scarf, I hope Rose thinks of it as a hug from me whenever she wears it.

That is really lovely and so different and unique, in both colors and pattern!
Carole, I love it. Iām going to give it a try. Enjoy your posts so much. Stay well.
How beautiful.
Beautiful! Those colors are marvelous together! What a lovely gift! š
Lucky Rose! It really is lovely. I have Woolen Rabbit yarn coming this week…yay!!! xo
GORGEOUS, Carole! I love the way those colors play together. (Kim’s yarn is so lovely. Always.) (My Walk in the Woods is one of my all-time favorites, by the way. It is EXACTLY like getting a big hug from you every time I wear it.) XOXO
Beautiful! I know she’ll treasue it forever!
Kim’s yarns are always such a delight to knit with, and wear! I have a few skeins from a Woolen Rabbit subscription a few years ago. I need to find something to make with them!
I love that color combo!! What a wonderful gift…
It’s gorgeous, just like Rose! Those colors look amazing together. I hope Rose enjoys wearing your hug on these frigid days!
What a lovely gift. I’m timid when it comes to color choices, although I have something in the pipeline that might take me out of that little bubble.
This is gorgeous, Carole. I love the colors. One of my favorite knits is a marl I did with burgundy and a mossy green held together. The contrast is terrific, as is this scarf. I am sure it will bring lovely feelings to the recipient every time it is worn.
Really lovely….and lucky Rose!! How could she not treasure this…treasure!!!
This is so beautiful, Carole! I love that mosaic knitting looks so much more complicated than it actually is. It’s always fun to impress people when you know you didn’t actually work too hard. š
Oh I am SURE Rose will feel that hug! (still very much want to knit with Woolen Rabbit … and perhaps a knit for someone else is the perfect excuse!)
