Before our road trip, I cast on for a new Musselburgh hat. My grandson, Patrick…
Wednesdays Are For Knitting Once Again!
First of all, thank you all for your kind comments and support regarding my diagnosis. I have the best readers and I appreciate your care and advice.
Now, on to the topic at hand . . . knitting.
Yes, I am knitting. Slowly and carefully, but I am knitting. Honestly, the biggest impediment at the moment isn’t pain, it’s Fred and George. Those two little buggers are . . . very drawn to the knitting. So much so that they could be asleep in a different room but the minute I pick up my knitting BAM they are in.my.lap. I’m not complaining because I adore them but they aren’t great for production.
The project I’m currently working on is the Musselburgh Hat and I’m using Gauge Dye Works Classic Merino Twist Self Striping in the Our Solar System colorway. I started this in Iceland back in August and, while I took some notes, I didn’t take many and I can’t remember what size I decided to make. I think at this point it mostly doesn’t matter as the pattern is written to be worn doubled up and folded over but I am getting to the point where I will have to consider starting the decreases.
At this rate I may just have a finished project by the end of the year. I call that a Christmas miracle!

Good news!
Hooray for Christmas miracles!
What fabulous news, Carole! I’m so glad that one of your most treasured hobbies has been restored to you, even if it requires speed adjustments. Plus, what’s better than having kitties in your lap when you are healing? Not much, I think.
I remember when I married into two kitties (wicked step-mother and all). They soon informed me that all things βstringβ were of vital interest to them. Enjoy your new little companions.
George and Fred. . . drawn to knitting? Quelle surprise! π
I’m so happy you’re able to knit again, Carole. When you’re going through stress in life, it’s so helpful to have yarn and needles in your hands! XO
George and Fred… knitting magnets! π
I am thrilled to see this knitting post! I am doing the dance of joy at this fact!
I have heard cats and knitting can be problematic. I am getting ready to cast on another mussleburgh too.
oh Happy Day! and I sense that even Fred and George’s interruptions aren’t really all that bad … and I LOVE the yarn you chose!
Musselburgh hats are everywhere! So happy to see one underway here. π
Hurray for knitting! I have a musselburgh hat on the needles here somewhere… Hmmmm…
