Three On Thursday

This week I’ve got 3 sort of . . . random . . . things I’ve tried recently

  1. Wordle. Someone called it the sourdough started of the Omicron variant and I have to say, they’re not wrong. It’s fun and challenging and you can only play once a day so it’s not a time suck. If you haven’t tried it yet, what are you waiting for?
  2. Apple Cider Vinegar. The uses of this are many but I recently tried it to clear up a spot of dry flaky skin on my face, right along my hair line. It’s not psoriasis and it could be eczema and apple cider vinegar is recommended as a home remedy. I’ve only applied it twice and it’s already so much better. I smell like a salad but my skin looks good.
  3. Judy’s Magic Cast On. I’m knitting toe up socks for the first time ever and I have to say that this cast on is genius. It’s easy to execute and it works perfectly and I feel very clever for figuring it out.

Have you tried anything new lately that has improved your world? I’d love to hear about it! And, of course, if you wrote a 3 on Thursday post for this week, please include your link below.

  1. We’re recent Wordle converts, less than a week.

I’m also trying to carve out a specific time for an activity I enjoy instead of leaving it in the margins of my time. Mixed results in doing so, but I’m reminded how creative activity recharges me.

  2. We’ve all been doing Wordle in my house for a couple of weeks now! It’s just enough of a challenge and feels like a good way to keep my brain sharp. Plus, we all love to tease each other with how quickly we’ve gotten to the right answer.

Can’t wait to see your new socks! I agree that JMCO is genius.

  3. Not trying Wordle. I already do the daily NYTimes crossword, and that’s it. My One Game of the day. 🙂 And I’m laughing about your “smelling like salad!” Glad your home remedy is working for you. I learned the magic cast on for some slippers I was knitting, and it IS genius!

  4. I just tried Wordle for the first time and I found it hard! I love the NYT spelling bee and the Letter Boxed games…I know I’ll be doing Wordle daily. Apple Cider Vinegar is supposed to have so many health benefits…I tried drinking a TBS daily, but couldn’t stick with it! What toe up sock pattern are you making? I have wanted to try toe up (I knit a lot of socks, but always cuff down).

  5. I love Judy’s magic cast on… it is pretty magical! And I am glad your home remedy is working (despite that salad-side effect!)

    🙂

  6. I have looked at JMCO, but have never tried it. I will have to investigate it more, and thanks for the recommendation, Carole.

  7. JMCO could be my next try in knitting skills. And I am so on my way with vinegar. I’ve got a pesky spot. Thanks Carole! And Wordle rocks!

  8. Started wordle over the weekend. Love it!

Love JMCO but haven’t made socks in a while. I think I have three pair on the needles… :-/

New (again this year) is Yoga With Adriene. I made it 23 days last year… Just finsished Day 18 (one day behind) this morning.

  9. I haven’t tried wordle yet. I’m glad the apple cider vinegar is working and I did laugh at you smelling like salad…there could be worse things to smell like!

  10. I’m going to check out Wordle. And I think I’ve done JMCO before but I have to look at the steps to remember if I actually did it or just heard about it.

  11. My niece and I do the NYT Spelling Bee every day and chat about it first thing in the morning. She got me onto Wordle so we share our scores of that at the same time. I’ve happily been able to get the word every day but the last two days I got a 6/6! whew
I am stealing Smith’s ACV (he uses it for BBQ) because I have a big problem with eczema. Thank you!!

  12. I’d much rather smell like salad than Windex [My Big Fat Greek Wedding?!] Glad to know it has so many purposes!

  13. I started Wordle a few days ago after seeing some friends on Facebook posting theirs. I’ve had some good days and wasn’t sure at first as I thought it would be frustrating but so far, so good.

I someday want to knit toe up socks but all the ones I have made so far are top down.

  14. I never got into sourdough, but I’m 100% into Wordle! I’m not so into toe-up socks though, because I don’t like the heels … maybe Sarah’s going to figure out a better way, and then I’ll be watching YouTubes of that cast-on, too!
