April Vacation

First, thank you all for the feedback on the blog updates. Data is good and knowing that the problem has been primarily related to commenting is helpful. Yesterday, someone at GoDaddy finally admitted that perhaps the problem was with the server so maybe we will actually get some improvement now. In the meantime, I’ll be blogging on a regular schedule again, so long as the technology works.

So, let’s talk about my April vacation!

We camped from Sunday until Thursday at a small campground in West Plymouth – about 10 minutes from the Cape Cod Canal. Friends of ours have a seasonal site at this campground and they were there until Tuesday. This was great for having fun but also helpful for working out the kinks on the first camping trip of the season.

It was chilly and pretty windy most of the week so we only had a campfire one night. And we still had a great time! We went out to eat with our friends, we played games, we read (a lot!), we took walks, I practiced my crochet skills and Dale had fun with some art work. And we proved that we can spend 4 days inside a pretty small trailer without getting on each other’s nerves!

The rest of the week at home was great for preparing for reentry. And we’re already planning our next camping getaway!

  1. Sounds like a good trip to shake the rust off those skills. Planning your next trip also sounds like a good sign.

Side note. The system still isn’t saving my name, etc. even if I check that box.

  2. I am so glad you had such a great time! (and I am glad you are figuring your blog kinks out!)

    Welcome back! XO

  3. It sounds like you had a wonderful time and I admire your ability to manage four days together in a trailer without getting on each other’s nerves. John doesn’t play games or read, so I don’t think we’ll be trying this anytime soon!

  4. Glad you had such a nice time. It is disappointing when the weather won’t cooperate and you can’t have a fire all the time…but sounds like you two coped very well. It was always a surprise to me how well Fletch and I did in our very small (16′) camper without killing each other! Like Robby, my name, etc. is not saved even though I checked the box – but same thing over at Kym’s blog…have to enter all that info each and every time. No problem though.

  5. I have the same problem with my name but my computer fills it when I left click. I have a MacAir which may be the problem all around. You two have your own fun no matter what. I love the way you roll with the punches.

  6. I think a sign of a strong marriage (or any relationship, really) is being able to spend several days in a camper and not getting on each other’s nerves! I’m glad to hear you enjoyed yourself, even or in spite of the not-so-great weather.

  7. I’m so glad you guys had a good camping experience! April is an iffy time for camping, I would imagine. I figure if you can camp successfully in April, you can camp successfully anytime. (Well, excluding the winter months, of course.) XO

  8. Glad you had fun camping. I think my sister has her first camping trip of the season the first weekend in May. She has a little teardrop camper.
