Wednesdays Are For Knitting: Halloween Striped Socks

Lo and behold, I have a finished pair of socks to show you today.

Are they out of season? And also a belated birthday gift? Absolutely. But are they awesome anyway? You bet.

The yarn is Knitterly Things Vesper Classic Striping Sock in the color Great Googlie Mooglie. I have had this yarn For.Ev.Er. And the pattern is my Picot Edge Socks.

I’m feeling pretty chuffed that I started them in the middle of October and finished them at the end of November. I might (maybe) (finally) have knitting with George The Yarn Loving Cat under control. Or at least, small project knitting. I don’t yet dare to bring out the Icelandic Sweater but I hope we’re working up to it.

In the meantime, I’ve already started a new pair.

  1. Nice warm, perfectly matched, striped socks are never out of season! Fingers crossed that George has his yarn lust under control.

  2. That might be the best yarn naming ever! They are fantastic! And go you for casting on another pair! I will join my crossed fingers about dear George as well!

  3. What perfect socks!!! (And who cares if they’re “out of season?” Not me. And I’ll bet not your lucky gift recipient either!) I’m so glad George is “allowing” you to knit! If I were a cat, I’d be constantly tempted by yarn. Constantly. XO

  4. I love the socks and I love the colorway name! I think you can wear those any time you like — warm feet are always in fashion!

  5. What a fun colorway and a great name! Someone is going to be very, very pleased. I hope George is under control, but being personally owned by a cat, I say stay vigilant!!

  6. They turned out great! Knitterly Things does the best stripes … and your pattern shows them off so well. Maybe a valentines day pair next?!
