Spreading Christmas Cheer

I know not everyone loves Christmas music but for me it’s a huge part of my holiday preparations and greatly enhances my Christmas spirit and enjoyment of the season. I thought today I would share my Spotify playlist of this year’s favorites. It’s an eclectic bunch of music with a variety of music. You’ll find no Jingle Bells, there are some religious pieces (because I grew up going to church even though I don’t anymore) and plenty of pop and rock and roll.

Enjoy! And let me know if you find a new favorite!

  1. This is great! I will play this when I start to bake some cookies – thanks! I do love “All I Want for Christmas” by Vince Vance and the Valiants and Darlene Love’s version of “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)” is the best! “River” is another favorite of mine (I like the Robert Downey version from Ally McBeal!!).

  2. What a nice holiday playlist, Carole. I used to love listening to Christmas music as a way to get in the holiday spirit every year. Lately, though, I’ve found myself . . . kind of annoyed by it. Not in a bah, humbug kind of way, but just in an enough-already way. I do have my favorites, though, and as the big day approaches, I’m sure I’ll be more in the mood to listen to some Christmas music! XO

  3. I don’t mean it in a bah, humbug, way either, but I have come to prefer and treasure silence. When I do play Christmas music, it’s Handel’s Messiah or Vince Guaraldi’s music from A Charlie Brown Christmas.

  4. What a lovely list, Carole! I am absolutely going to be playing that in the days to come, thank you for sharing! XO

  5. I haven’t listened to much holiday music this year… until last night! It seemed super appropriate to queue it up while I was making another Christmas wreath. Thanks for sharing your playlist! I’m looking forward to listening.

  6. There’s plenty of Christmas music I don’t mind — more the classic, traditional stuff — but it’s always the annoying pop stuff that I seem to hear on the radio. I’m just glad I don’t work retail anymore and have to hear it all day long!

  7. Please excuse my ignorance, but why the paragraph about zyprexa? And thanks for the playlist! I like to listen to holiday music while wrapping gifts (such a tedious chore made better by the music).
