Another Blogging Milestone

Nineteen years ago yesterday, on a cold Saturday morning, I sat down at our clunky Gateway computer and I started this blog. While I tried to keep it about knitting . . . it pretty quickly became about my life. Stories about Dale and the kids, our successes and failures, our travels and adventures, our highs and lows, peppered the pages I wrote.

A lot has changed in the world since 2005. There were no smart phones yet, I carried a cell phone and a Palm Pilot. Social media didn’t really exist. Facebook was brand new and there was no Instagram or Twitter. Netflix was still shipping DVDs of movies and no one was bingeing shows. Is it any wonder we turned to blogging to connect with the world?

And connect we have! This is ny 4,452nd post and you all have left almost 87,000 comments. You’ve been there for me during some profoundly difficult times and you’ve celebrated with me in times of joy. You’ve praised my knitting, considered my book recommendations, and cheered on my volunteer work. You watched Hannah grow from a girl of 12 to a young woman with a life of her own. You’ve never let me down.

Thanks for being along for the ride, friends.
