Weekend Glimmers, Sept 6th-8th, 2024

Glimmers . . . moments that spark joy, contentment, and peace, making me feel that all is well and I am right where I belong . . .

The first full weekend of September had some wonderful glimmers.

There was Jackie’s first soccer game of the season on Saturday morning. It’s so cute to watch packs of little kids run around on a field.

Dale and I both thought Jack’s equipment from last year looked too small so he took hi to the store yesterday and outfitted him with new cleats, socks, and shin guards.

I picked 3 dahlia bouquets.

I spent some time working on Postcards to Swing States. I ordered the smallest number allowed, which is 200, so I have a LOT to do. I’m grateful for the opportunity to do something concrete, though, that is proven to work. Still, if you’d like to take a pack of 25 cards of my hands just let me know.

I changed the sheets on Sunday. Fred and George were a big help.

I also did things that aren’t pictured.

I made pizza in the Ooni oven on Friday night for our Pergola Friday guests and again on Sunday night because Dale asked for it again since he only got one piece on Friday!

I finished reading How to Read A Book and started reading Clear.

I watched a little bit of football and spent some time in my studio.

And I was happy to be at home.

I hope you had a weekend that made you happy, too.

  1. Sounds like a full and lovely weekend. Your dahlias are gorgeous and Jackie is getting so big!! Isn’t it stilly how helpful cats can be?

  2. I love your Bed Making Helpers! LOL Brilliant! (And Jackie playing soccer melts my heart! I remember those days well!)

  3. Jackie looks like he is enjoying himself playing soccer! My dog loves to roll in dirty sheets! When she was younger she would jump on the bed when I started to take the old sheets off. At age 14 she can no longer jump, but she will wake out of a dead sleep and roll on the sheets on the laundry room floor!

  4. I love watching little kids run up and down the field in packs and I wish I had kitties to help me make the bed! I hope you have a good week ahead!

  5. The photos of Jackie playing soccer reminded me of the years going to watch my little brother play (he’s 6+ years younger, so I was already a teenager by then) and getting entertained by the kids who clearly didn’t have any idea what was going on.

Sounds like it was an excellent weekend full of good things!

  6. Jackie’s adorable… looks like he enjoys playing. Junah is not into team sports!

I remember going to watch Mack & Addie play soccer a few years ago when they lived nearby… and I missed one of them making a great shot because I was taking pictures of the CLOUDS & SKY!! haha.
