Comfort Food
As I may have mentioned a time or two, I take great comfort in serving delicious food to my family and friends. While this may account for my current XL size, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t benefit from my extensive research in this area. So, allow me to show you what we had for dinner on Monday night.
Chicken Tomato Stroganoff
2 lbs boneless chicken breast cut into bite-sized pieces
1 lb mushrooms, sliced
2 cans Cream of Mushroom Soup
2 cans stewed tomatoes
salt, pepper, basil to taste
1 lb cooked pasta
8 oz shredded mozzarella cheese
Brown chicken and mushrooms in olive oil. Stir in soup, stewed tomatoes, salt, pepper and basil. Bring to a boil and then mix with the cooked pasta. Pour into a casserole dish and top with mozzarella cheese. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.
Simple and certainly not fancy but very, very good. Maryse, you really missed out.

Wow. That looks yummy!
Oh, that looks delicious. I’m going to make that for my family as soon as everyone’s tummy settles down.
You should title your food posts with “Things That Make You Go Mmmmm” 🙂 Thank you for sharing!
OH MY…looks delicious, I think I can smell it! I enjoy food…really good food! I’ll be fixin’ this one this weekend!
Thanks!!
Look at you…a regular MFS 😉
It does look yummy!!
It’s so funny. I’m a relative food snob. However, I also believe that you can dump a can of Cream of Mushroom soup over an old boot, bake it half an hour at 350, and it would be delicious.
Mmmmmmm!!!!!
hehe Right! A regular MFS! hehe Carole, the simple + yummy = the BEST in my book every time! Yay! Thanks for another great dish!
Yummy!
Should I come by about six?
Looks delicious, yet simple. I’ve copied and printed the recipe and I think I’ll make it for dinner tonight (since I forgot to take anything out and have to go to the store anyway)!
You need to stop posting pictures of things that make me wish I lived closer to you ;o)
thanks, rub it in.
i may have to make that.
Mmm…do you think it would turn out okay without the chicken?
Ooooh, thank you for sharing the recipe! It looks delicious!

Thank you for a recipe that the single and bitter can half! /runs
Wow that looks good! And fast! I’m going to the grocery store right after work! Thanks for sharing!!
That looks SO good! I think my husband would really like that although I’m sure I shouldn’t eat it since I’m also feeling a bit XL right now!
I’m going to print out the recipe anyway. I could always use it on a “splurge” day.
That’s pretty fancy cooking for me………..turkey burgers are gourmet food at our house.
Never trust a skinny cook!
We’re having homeade chicken tortilla soup tonight. Despite the fact that it’s 80F here, soup sounds good.
Saturday night I’m planning seared tuna with a wasabi pea crust, bok choy, and rice pilaf with a nice Spanish albarino.
I love cooking. I love cooking even more than I love knitting! (Yes, heresy in this crowd, but true nonetheless.)
Looks like the perfect winter time comfort food. mmmm!
Maybe that will warm me up- brrr!
Oh oh, I’m going to get in trouble for drooling all over your blog again…
My husband would just kiss you if you weren’t so far away… this is his favorite kind of dish.
That looks wonderful! Thanks for sharing. I’ll have to try it out!
Can I come to your house? There’s a flower show in Portland (ME) Th, F, sat and Sun…too far for you? I was there today and all day tomorrow.
Ohhhh, I’m drooling into my soup made from canned lentils 🙁

I’m collecting recipes to make for a friend for after her 4th baby is delivered, do you have any suggestions for freezing this and then baking/re-heating it?
